Hello! Tonight, I'm listening to my sister's radio show, drinking hot tea, and posting to this blog, because Sunday night is party time! I'm going to be skirting around spoilers for an anime that's a few years old tonight, so enjoy it!
Pretty soon, it is going to be time for the Academy Award nominee sprite patterns, and a possible set of Lego Movie sprite patterns done out of spite for it not getting nominated for Best Animated Picture. There are a few nominees that I am concerned about my ability to make look distinctive, but there are some others that I know will turn out pretty well. Those should start going up sometime towards the end of the week, though!
For tonight, I have a portrait pattern of Mami from Madoka Magica because I made this and would like to post it. I should probably be doing requested patterns, but instead, I am making patterns of anime characters that match the color scheme I would like to use. It's not that I don't like Mami, but I wanted to find a character that would look nice on light brown fabric, and she seemed like a good choice. Plus, I like her twirly hair and flower pin, so that was a big part of this, too.
This is pretty small for a portrait pattern, because I wanted her to fit an embroidery hoop that I have in my craft box. She has cute doodle-type eyes, though, so I like it. (In case you couldn't tell, this is one of my current projects.) Because of that, it's low intensity and easy to stitch. I hope you guys like this pattern!
With Mami posted, I would like to address a comment made yesterday, by reader Kathryn! As it turns out, I wasn't paying attention during Sprite Patterns December (woah, shocking!), and posted the wrong color key for Zero Suit Samus's pattern! Below is the proper color key, and the original post will be edited to include a link to this post. I think there is probably an easier way to do this, but I am not feeling so logical tonight, so this is what's going on.
This is it for tonight, but I'm participating in an IHSW held by Joysze of Random Ramblings this lovely three-day weekend, so tomorrow night, I should have some sort of photo of how little I have accomplished this weekend! It'll be great. Until then, though, have a nice night and good luck with your own crafts!
