Another Simple Pattern of a Weird Mascot Character

Hello! Today, my internet is not working very well, and I don't have any homework at the moment, either, so it seems like a good time to do a blog post! If I can stay connected for long enough to make the post go through, I will have been victorious, and if not, I will have this waiting in my drafts to be posted after class tonight. Either way, it will work out in the end. The only problem today is that, because I have to upload my images for patterns, I want to stick to just one cross stitch chart, which means that today, I am posting a big pattern instead of some sprite patterns. I have a few different ones to choose from, but, after my last cute-mascot-character-that-I-actually-have-no-concept-of pattern was posted this summer, I left a couple more of them in my finished patterns folder. Because those have been waiting the longest to be posted, for today, I have an easy to stitch pattern of Sabo Kappa, a San-X character who was picked for pattern making on a day when I was marveling that San-X and Sanrio were actually two different things. Sabo Kappa looked happy and had a flower on its head, so that was enough reason to make the pattern for me.
When I designed this pattern, I was hoping to use it for a plastic canvas project, so the colors are very simple and correspond to the yarn that I have to stitch with. Because of this, they're not as bright as the ones that get printed on this character's stationery and toys, but if you ignore the provided floss color key, there's not enough detail in this pattern that it should be challenging to find the appropriate colors. I sort of like this color scheme, though, especially with the brown outline, so I think that I'd use it even if made this project into a normal cross stitch. As always, though, the colors that you use while stitching this are completely up to you, so I hope that, however you decide to stitch or bead this, you end up with a project you like!

So far, things have been going well with this post, so I think that I'm going to stop now before my computer does something weird again. Have a nice day, and good luck with whatever crafty stuff you're doing, too!

Three New Sprite Patterns From Stuff I Generally Make a Lot of Patterns For

Hello! Over the last two days, I have fallen down stairs twice and done a large amount of not all that thrilling reading for classes, so it seems like it is a good idea to post here today! It would take a considerable amount of effort for me to hurt myself doing this, and it doesn't have anything to do with homework, making blog posting a good activity. I don't have anything that fancy or special for you guys today, though, so this is just going to be a post of sprite patterns. I haven't drawn the ones that will be posted for today from my jar, but hopefully, I ended up getting at least one that was requested! If I don't, I hope that you enjoy all of the weird stuff that I make for my own crafting purposes.

The first pattern that I picked for today, which puts me right on the path towards actually posting what others would like to stitch, is of Kevin Rian, the police officer from Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves. I don't have much to say about this pattern, since it's pretty standard, other than the fact that I could not tell you why a cop would wear so many belts around his legs, unless he's trying to get into the cast of a Final Fantasy game, in which case, he'll need a much more intense hairstyle. If you're following the Mark of the Wolves pattern set, though, I hope that this makes a good addition to your collection, or is at least an okay page filler, in the case that you have an irrational burning hatred for the character,
My second pattern for today is also of a fighting game character, which, in the event that you have never actually read this blog before, should tell you something about the types of patterns that I sit around and make. This much frillier pattern, however, is of Xianghua from Soul Calibur. I know that I've posted a pattern of her before today, but with Soul Calibur, even the hairstyles are different with alternate outfits, so I have at least two patterns each for most of the characters from the series that I've made. I cannot justify that as a good use of my time, but with this pattern, Xianghua is dressed in such lovely shades of red, green and gold that, if you have a particularly aggressive Christmas tree, she'd make the perfect ornament!
Today's final pattern is not a character from a video game about kicking people in the face, about which I am sort of relieved. Instead, I drew another pattern from my Doctor Who set, featuring Rory Williams. It would be funny to try and match the show and delete this pattern every few days until I just keep it here for good, but I'm too lazy to do that, so I'm just going to leave it posted. It's been a while since I posted Amy Pond, even though I made the two patterns together, so I'm glad to finally have Rory up here to go with her. This is certainly not the last of the Doctor Who sprite patterns, though, so I hope that those of you stitching them aren't sick of them yet.

I am done with posting for now, partially because I don't want to post any more patterns and partially because warning signs are popping up all over my browser to tell me that, on my computer, Blogger is losing touch with the internet and is somehow suffering a great deal because of that. I am slightly annoyed at this, but not enough that it will stop me from posting patterns again in the next few days. As always, if you have any pattern requests, let me know and I will do my best to make them, though the jar of pattern selection means that it could be a bit before your requests get posted. I can actually reply to comments now, though, so at least I'll be able to let you know that, eventually, you may see your requests finished.

Breaking Bad Sprite Pattern Countdown: Day 1

Hello! I would like to start of by saying that, if you are totally sick of the subject I am about to start typing about, I have kept you in mind. After the sprite patterns from the series that a good portion of people with TVs and computers are currently obsessed with, I will, for every day that I am doing this, draw one pattern from the jar of still to post sprite patterns. It may not be much, but I hope that it helps to calm your rage.

As you may have guessed from the title of today's post, I have made several Breaking Bad sprite patterns, and, as the series finale is on Sunday, am skipping the sprite patterns jar to post them all week. I have by no means made the full cast, and am not even entirely sure that people who like the show are going to be like, "Ah, man! I was having a good day before, but now that I can finally sit down and cross stitch Bob Odenkirk in a bad suit, I'm sure that the Lord has smiled upon me!" Actually, I am pretty sure that no one is going to think that. I did perler bead the pattern in question, though, so the Breaking Bad patterns have not entirely been made in vain.

Also, although I think that I have covered most of my bases, if there is a character that you feel like you absolutely need a cross stitch pattern of, let me know in the comments!

Anyway, for tonight, I have chosen the patterns that, due to the characters' haircuts, were incredibly easy to make. These two patterns are of Saul Goodman, as some of you may have figured out from the above paragraph, and Jane Margolis, who, due to Kristen Ritter's haircut, was 75% done when I drew a line of black pixels right above her eyes. Though I'm going to have at least one apologetic day towards the end of the week, I'm really happy with both of these patterns! I used the Saul one (and one of another character that none of you should be shocked to see) for perler beads on Saturday, and that worked out okay, and now I want to see how the blue highlight looks in Jane's hair, so I'll probably cross stitch her soon. (My perler beads would be sort of a pain to transport, so I don't have them at school with me.) Regardless of my opinion, though, I hope that you guys like these patterns!

With this week's theme patterns posted, I have drawn a pattern from the jar for those of you who aren't into TV shows about meth! If you're into TV shows about meth and Playstation RPGs, however, this is your lucky night. The random pattern for tonight is of Mojo from Chrono Cross, and I actually really like this pattern. It takes a lot of brown and tan thread to stitch, since he's made of straw, but if you get the right colors, it should work very well.
Today has been quite a day, so I am done posting for tonight. I'll be back tomorrow, though, with a new pair of Breaking Bad patterns and something else from the sprite patterns jar! Have a good night and a nice tomorrow!

Note: I know that a lot of you reading are Sonic the Hedgehog fans, so if you don't care about Breaking Bad, scroll through until you hit the third cross stitch pattern. I am a little hopeful that this is the only blog that has to have that disclaimer at the top.

Hello! I wasn't going to post here until a couple of hours from now, but I can't get Fox in my room tonight, so while I am not watching girly sitcoms, I figured that I might as well do a blog post! Just like yesterday, I have two Breaking Bad themed sprite patterns for you guys and a third pattern that I drew from my magical sprite patterns mystery jar. After working on the last of my Breaking Bad patterns for the week while I was cooking rice for dinner, which led to quite the in-depth conversation about what a weirdo I am, I can actually say that all of the planned characters are now finished. If you're worried that I missed a character you really want to see, though, you can leave a request in the comments! As my family knows, I already have a super delightful surprise that everyone is going to love planned for Friday's patterns, but I still have room if there is anyone else that any of you want to cross stitch.

For today's Breaking Bad patterns, I'm posting the second pattern that I perler beaded over the weekend, featuring Hank Schrader, and the pattern of his partner, Steven Gomez. If you're not particularly into Breaking Bad, but are really excited about cross stitching either two guys in normal clothes or Big Jim from Under the Dome, this might be a good day for you. Both of the patterns are pretty simple, so if you have colors that are close to the ones in the preview images, it should work out for you. When I did the perler bead version of Hank, I'm not even sure that I was close with the red or the grays on his coat, but it still turned out well enough that my brother, who is a fan of the character, was not displeased. The only other thing that I have to say about these patterns is that I tried to make one of Gomez with the facial hair from the later episodes, but it looked weird and bad, so that's why you guys get the early in the series clean shaven version of him. I did give him his DEA ID, though, so that has to count for something.

I know that some of you guys are watching Breaking Bad on Netflix and DVD rather than live television, so even though I cannot imagine the spoiler free internet that you must have to seek out, I cannot type any more about Hank and Gomez without ruining some stuff. Because of that, here are the patterns!

The pattern that I drew from the jar for tonight is of Amy Rose from Sonic the Hedgehog. I realize that she is a widely reviled character, because she is loud and annoying, but also, she is a pink hedgehog in a dress that hits people with a hammer, so if you hate her, I think that you are wrong. This pattern was a little bit difficult to make, but I was happy with how it came out, so that's why it got to be turned into a chart and tossed in the jar. I'm not sure if I'm going to make any other Sonic characters yet, since I am certainly not a die-hard fan of the franchise, but if any of you want patterns for them, let me know! It was fun to make this one.
With that, I am done for tonight, but will be back with more nonsense tomorrow! There are two different pairs of characters that I have to pick from for tomorrow's post, so I have to decide between that two characters that I know for a fact someone actually wants and my greatest triumph in pixelated hair since my pattern of River Song. Whichever one I pick, though, the other one will be posted on Thursday, so it doesn't actually matter. Have a nice day, and good luck with your crafts!

Breaking Bad Sprite Patterns Countdown: Day 3 (A Requested Sprite Follows)

Hello! I originally started this post with a rant about something that is in no way related to this blog, but I decided that was a bad idea. Instead, I am going to post a video from Funny or Die that my mom mentioned in the comments yesterday! If you have not seen the current season of Breaking Bad, you should not watch this. If you have, however, it is a pretty funny video about Hank that I probably should have posted yesterday. I hope that you guys enjoy it, and, as there are spoilers, watch it at your own risk!

Now that I have gotten both my embedding and some basic math to work, it's time for today's patterns! I'm really happy with all four of the patterns that I have for today and tomorrow, so I sort of arbitrarily decided that today I'd be posting Gus and Mike, the second of which is the pattern that kicked off yesterday's "what is wrong with you" conversation. I don't see why a girl shouldn't be able to sit at her kitchen table and make a cross stitch pattern of Jonathan Banks, but that must be some sort of societal issue. Either way, though, it ended up being a pretty good pattern, so that was okay. I like the pattern of Gus, too, but I almost feel like it was too easy! He wears the same outfit so often that it wasn't very different from making a cartoon character. I didn't really want to mess with the pattern too much, though, so it ended up that Gus was the fastest to make of any of the characters in the set. (Two of them were really difficult, but they haven't been posted yet.)

I am having a lot of trouble stringing together a coherent set of words tonight, so I won't be typing much more here. My third pattern for tonight, though, taken from the jar, is the enthusiastically requested Kitty Pryde, from X-Men. The request was specifically for her outfit from X-Men Evolution, which didn't bother me any. I never really watched that, but the color scheme came out well, and her haircut seems to be the same as it is in the comic books. There is a lot of X-Men stuff that I know a lot more about, though, so if there are different characters that you would like to see, let me know! It would be cool to make them.
I am a little relieved that now, I am done with today's post! I have at least one really impressive sprite pattern hairstyle to show off tomorrow, though, so I'm excited about that. Until then, have a nice day, and good luck with your crafts and all of that stuff!

Breaking Bad Sprite Patterns Countdown: Day 4

Hello! Before I get started with today's actual blog content, I wanted to ask if any of you out there that are also using Blogger have been having trouble with your launch page's list of blogs. I've been able to get it to load the blogs I follow about 50 percent of the time lately, but even then, I know stuff is missing. (I see when Skates and Stitches has updates on Facebook, but I get four of five posts from that blog in a chunk in my reader, which leads me to believe that this could be happening with other blogs.) From the floods of posts that I occasionally get, I feel like I see everything eventually, so it's no big deal, but I was curious about if I was alone with this problem.

Anyway, now that that's out of the way, I have today's Breaking Bad patterns to share with you. For today, sort of because I was really happy with these patterns and saved them, I have the sprite patterns for Skyler and Marie! I could go on and on about the internet's irrational hatred of Skyler and how insane I think that is, but since it would not be that different from what I said about Amy Rose earlier this week, I will not. What I will say, though, is that I think her pattern is my favorite in the whole set. Her hair ended up being really cool, and I gave her a purse, and I think that, as much as a tiny little pixel person can, it kind of looks like Anna Gunn. I like the one of Marie, too, with her no-bangs later in the show hair, and think that her outfit is suitably purple, but the one of Skyler ended up being really nice, so that's why I typed more about it. Anyway, here are the patterns!

I also took a pattern out of the sprite patterns random choosing jar! It is of Luigi from the Super Mario games. I can't actually think of much to say about this chart, so I hope you like this one, too! My guess would be that it matches the pattern of Mario pretty well.
I'm done posting for tonight, but none of you are going to believe the delightful and awesome surprise that I have ready to post for tomorrow! Until then, have a nice day or night or whatever!

Meanwhile, On Low Winter Sun

After today's TV show patterns, there is a requested pattern of a Naruto character. I've known enough big fans of 700 episode fighting anime in my life to know that some readers would skip this post due to the American hour long drama connection and miss the pattern, but this thing took me forever to make, and I am not going to skip attracting attention to it. That being said, patterns from those sorts of shows are really fun to make, so if you have requests for more, let me know.

Hello! A week-long homecoming (I am not sure for what, maybe soccer), which sounds slightly nightmarish to me, is starting at my school next week, so in anticipation of this, the entire campus seems to have gone silent. It is because of this that I am posting earlier than normal today! Besides, today, I have two very special patterns for those of you who have been following the Breaking Bad charts this week. I'm sure that at least a few of you who are paying way too much attention to all of this stuff are like, "Oh, ha-ha, I understand that Low Winter Sun is always in the way of our seeing next episode previews for Breaking Bad, and appreciate that this is yet another unfair internet joke about a show that most of us have never seen!" That's because, statistically, people who read this blog are far more likely to respond to a simple joke with large amounts of exposition than the readers of other blogs. I, however, have taken this at least a few steps too far by actually making patterns of Frank and Joe, who I have, through research that is not extensive, but probably took longer than it should have, decided must be the main characters on Low Winter Sun. If you are a fan of the show, I really hope that you like these patterns! KG Stitch was driving me crazy today, turning all of the browns into bright reds and all of the blues into purples, so it took longer than usual to put these charts together. I think that it worked out all right, though, so here they are!

For today's third pattern, taken from the mystical sprite patterns jar, I did not recognize the name "Kankuro" when I drew the slip of paper. However, it turns out that this is the weird cat ear hood guy that I did as a pattern request from Naruto! I made this pattern a while ago, and have no idea of anything about this character, but, like most of the Naruto patterns, it was fun to make. I'm not sure that I got the face paint right, but the hood should make up for it. I hope you guys like it!
The internet is flickering on and off, so I am going to quit posting now and hope that I can get this online! I'll be back tomorrow with my last two Breaking Bad patterns and another pattern from the jar. Until then, have a nice start to your weekend!

Breaking Bad Sprite Pattern Countdown: The Final Two

Hello! Today is the last day of Breaking Bad sprite patterns that I have for you guys, so this mini blog event is coming to an end! I might post some star paper with all of the sprites on it tomorrow, just because I think it'll be kind of funny to have some stars have outer space idol singers on them while others have meth cooks on them, but I haven't decided if I will or not yet.

Anyway, if you are following this pattern set and did not guess that for today, I had patterns of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, I hope that you enjoy this lovely surprise. These were actually the two hardest patterns to make by a lot, even though for Walt, I went with the more distinctive Heisenberg outfit. I had both of these done last Saturday, but wasn't happy with them at all, so I redid them the same day that I made Mike and Gomez. (I know that all of those details are very important to everyone.) After all of that, I think that I did a decent job, especially since Jesse's pattern is the first one I've made where the character has a hoodie with the hood up. I hope that you guys are okay with these, too.

In a stroke of luck that fits this post perfectly, the pattern from the jar for today is of Cardcaptor Sakura, who I'm willing to bet would not be allowed to watch Breaking Bad if her dad and older brother were doing it. I did draw a version of her in a yellow outfit, though, so I think she'd match Jesse quite nicely! If you're looking for something frilly and girly to stitch, I hope you like this!
My allergies are making me really itchy, and I'm kind of sleepy, too, so I am done posting for now. I should be back with more stuff very soon, though. I hope that you liked the Breaking Bad patterns, and wish all of us good series finale watching conditions!

A Portrait Pattern of a New Pokemon Trainer

Hello! Today, I am kind of sleepy and stuffy headed, so when I was doing my homework before coming here, I kept typing the wrong words and forgetting what I wanted to say in the middle of my sentences. That probably means that it is not my best idea ever to do a blog post. I have a really nifty new Pokemon pattern that I want to post, though, so even if the post doesn't make a lot of sense, there'll at least be that for you guys!

The other day, probably because I am behind on my Pokemon information, I found out that the trainers for Pokemon X and Y had names. It doesn't really matter what they are, though Serena and Calem are better names than Hilda and Hilbert. What mattered about that was that I could make patterns with better labels on them than Pokemon X/Y Female Trainer, like I did with my sprite patterns. Because of that, I decided to try and make a fancier pattern of Serena. I was originally going to use a screenshot from the anime for this, but since that hasn't actually been on yet, there were only two or three reference images available. I came to the conclusion that dealing with that wasn't going to be much fun and then started using a screenshot from the game itself instead. Originally, I intended to try and turn the 3D character model into a sprite, which would have been cool. Instead, however, I ended up making a chibi portrait pattern of her. I think that it came out pretty well, and if you want to stitch a portrait pattern without having that much time for it, this one is a bit smaller than normal. I might work on it while I watch TV tonight, but I haven't decided if I will or not yet. Regardless of what I decide to do, though, I hope that some of you like this pattern!
I do not feel confident in my ability to continue constructing sentences, so I am done blogging for now. I've gotten a ton of requested sprite patterns done in the last couple of days, though, so you guys can expect to start seeing those very soon! Until then, have a nice day!

Look At This Little Twin Stars Cross Stitch Flyer I Got! (Piles of Photos)

Hello! This post is going to be pretty pointless, since there will be no patterns or anything like that. I have, however, by selling out and doing my internet searches with Bing instead of Google, been able to continually earn 3 dollar gift cards to Amazon.com, which I can then spend on a variety of really dumb things. I earned another gift card last week, and while I was doing weird item searches on Amazon instead of actually being useful, I found a Little Twin Stars cross stitch booklet from 1984 that I could pretty much get for free. I couldn't find anything online about what patterns were actually in it, other than photos of the cover, so for today's post, I scanned the finished project pages, both to show off and so that other people who want the book can see what patterns are actually in it. I don't have anything for the patterns themselves, but the charts are really clear and big, with three different brands of floss listed in the keys. Plus, the weird sayings that are added to most of the charts are completely removable, which is going to come in handy for when I actually make this stuff.
To start things out, here is my incredibly exciting scan of the cover. The book is used, so it's not in perfect condition, but I think it's still pretty good. The inside of it doesn't look used at all. Also, do you guys like how artfully I blurred out the original owner's name? You can't tell there was ever anything there at all.
Next in line is my incredibly advanced reconstruction of the booklet's center pages. If you click on it, the patterns are pretty easy to see, but I was able to find text free versions of most of the pictures that they must have used to make these patterns online. The one in back on the left page, where they're sitting on the fence in front of the picturesque country house, because I guess that's where you hang out if you live in the sky, looks really fun to make. It looked like, from bing and google image searches, Sanrio likes that picture, too, as the drawing of it popped up over and over again, both with and without the mysterious house. I kept seeing this version of it, linked from Pinterest boards that linked to blogs that linked back to Pinterest, making it impossible to trace the source. (My educated guess would be that it somehow came from Sanrio.) I might use the bright pink grass when I make it, though, because that's more fun than the green in the book, and also slightly more terrifying.
This is the photo page from the front half of the book, featuring my favorite thing in the whole booklet- the inexplicable teeth brushing pattern. I looked this up, because I couldn't decide which country to blame the strangeness of it on, but then found a photo of it on some stickers on soCal72girl's Flickr page. Because it's hard to see the pattern in this image, I am posting the sticker version of it, too. (The sleeping picture isn't in the actual pattern.)
I can't decide if I like this pattern because it's of a really boring subject or because Lala seems to be really, really angry that she just had to brush her teeth. I'm not even sure that Sanrio has properly proven that the Little Twin Stars have teeth, so that might just make the whole thing worse. Maybe that's why she looks like she wants to tear Kiki's head off over dental hygiene. Without her obviously enraged cartoon face, though, I don't think that I'd make this pattern, so it's probably her unquenchable rage that makes the whole thing. Also, I think that I'll use the colors from the stickers when I stitch this, because it could be easy to get tired of stitching all of that pink and blue hair.
Here is my last picture from the book, which is the page of photos from the second half. I know that a lot of you who read this blog are Sanrio fans, too, so do any of you know if the picture of them praying on a cloud is from other Little Twin Stars art or products? It was one of two that I couldn't find in any other form (the other one being the one from the center where Kiki is playing trumpet and Lala is passive aggressively not playing the harp), but this one seems a little more out of place. I wouldn't be surprised if Sanrio drew both of them, but the two that I can't find elsewhere are the two that the pattern maker put religious sayings on, so I'm kind of curious about it. If anyone knows, please leave a comment about it! Other than that, though, I really like the pattern way in back where they're on the shooting star with woodland creatures who seem to be taking the whole ordeal pretty well.

I think that I've done enough blogging for tonight, but if you stumbled across this blog looking for information on the Linda Dennis book of Little Twin Stars cross stitch patterns, I hope it was useful to you! I've seen photos of two other Sanrio fliers with her name on them, too. One is a Hello Kitty one that looks kind of strange and off from the cover, and the other is a My Melody one that looks really nifty. I think that this can keep me busy for quite a while, though, and I hope that you guys liked the photos! I'll be back really soon with some new sprite patterns, so thank you for sitting through this post.

Three Sprite Patterns and at the End, a Question About the Monochrome Zelda Patterns

$

Hello! Today, I seem to have my full internet powers back, so I can finally post to my blog again! Aside from my excitement at being able to post here, I don't have that much to say, since I just wrote a giant reader response on how composition teachers ought to respond to student writing. I do, however, have three sprite patterns for you, all of which I have already drawn from my jar. It is difficult to think of a way to connect these three patterns, but since there's one of them that someone actually asked for at one point, I will start with him.

This pattern, in keeping with my last major set of sprite patterns, is of Walt Jr. from Breaking Bad, with an unnecessarily elaborate breakfast table in front of him. I am working on stitching this, and the table does not actually add that much time to getting this pattern done, though I suspect that it'll be difficult to get him to stay up with the standees that I keep making my sprites into. I feel like, with the full breakfast of bacon, eggs, and orange juice, however, this is a much better pattern than it would have been without the table. Plus, if I add two little plastic bases to the standee, I think that this will work out very well.
Since the other two patterns that I drew for today were definitely not requests, I decided to start with the pattern of Spika, one of the golfers from Pangya, because she at least has fluffy hair and detailed clothing. I can't remember if I posted my pattern of her in her basic outfit yet or not, but in this pattern, she has the bizarre outfit that you won if you did a series of increasingly boring golfing tasks during the time period which the game developers declared to be her birthday. It was probably not necessary for me to make this pattern, as I am not sure who, aside from myself, intends to cross stitch the space girl from a video game about golfing even once, let alone in two different outfits. The sad thing about that, though, is that as long as this blog keeps going, you guys are probably going to have to deal with a third chart of her.
Today's final pattern is of Hon Fu, the Korean police officer from Fatal Fury 3. At this point in my blog's history, I don't feel like I have to explain why this pattern exists. Please just enjoy today's obscure fighting game character cross stitch pattern.

I've been working on a ton of new patterns today, all of which I am looking forward to posting, so I should be back here with more sprite patterns and more large patterns very soon. Before I go, I would like to say that I did get the anonymous comment about the monochrome Zelda patterns, and looking at my saved pattern files, Tetra will probably be the next one posted. Is there someone different or more that you guys want in that set? I also have, probably about half finished, a Minish. I don't know if anyone would stitch this or not, but because it is a cute little mouse with person clothes and a shamrock, it seemed important to me that I make a pattern of one. This is a very small list, though, so if you have any suggestions or requests, please leave a comment about it!

A New Monochrome Link Pattern, Plus Me Asking What Characters You Want in the Future

$

Hello! I am kind of sleepy and the internet is barely working, so I am actually typing this blog post in Word Pad while I wait for Blogger to load the post builder. Despite these problems, however, I finished a new monochrome Legend of Zelda pattern today, and, as they seem to be the most popular big patterns that I've posted by a longshot- that's right, for some reason, people are downloading the Zelda patterns more than my giant Medabots pattern- I wanted to post the new one before it sat around for too long!

For today, I don't have a pattern of a new or exciting character, but I do have a pattern of little kid Link from the beginning of The Wind Waker when he's running around in pajamas. I based this off of an image on a poster where he's at the beach with Aryll and his grandma, and even though there's already a pattern of Link, this seemed really cute, so I made it. Plus, no one has complained about the fact that there's two patterns of Zelda in the set and an upcoming one of Tetra, so nothing seemed to be stopping me.

I realize that this isn't completely accurate, but when I made this pattern, I decided to make the picture and trim on the pajamas black, so that they would show up and make this a little bit more interesting to stitch. Also, though I'm not sure anyone cares at all, this pattern ended up being 133 instead of 135 stitches tall, so it's a bit smaller than the rest of the set. As I formatted the chart, however, I decided that since he doesn't have a hat in this pattern, that's perfectly fine. Anyway, here is the shiny new monochrome pattern of Link!
With today's pattern in this set posted, I have three more that I'm working on, so it's not done yet. Would you guys be interested in more patterns in this set with Link and Zelda from the games that don't look like The Wind Waker? I've been using that and the matching DS games so far just because they're really cute, but it would be cool to use some of the other games, too. If you have an opinion on this or characters from other Zelda games that you'd be interested in seeing, please comment!

I am done for today, but should have more stuff pretty soon! Until then, have a good week!

Frilly Girly Sprite Patterns and One of an Impractically Dressed Ninja

Hello! I don't have any good reason to do a blog post today, other than that I feel like doing one and think that the internet will hold out for me for the amount of time that it will take to do this post. It's not going to be a very special post, since it's just a round of three sprite patterns that I drew from my jar, but, as I already drew them and know what is to be posted, I think that it'll be interesting!

The first pattern for today is a bit different from most of my sprite patterns in that it's actually a Pokemon! I got a request for a set of them from a reader last month, and as every Pokemon on her list was pretty much shaped like a person, I thought that it would be fun to see if I could make them without screwing up too badly. Today's pattern is of Lilligant, which is one of my favorite Pokemon because I tend to like flowery and girly rubbish. I'm not sure that this is the most impressive of the Pokemon patterns that are currently in my jar, but it is one of the ones that I like best, even though it will take a ton of different greens to stitch her properly. I think that she came out really well, though, and hope that you guys like her, too.
The second pattern for today, which is quite different from the first, is of Taki from Soul Calibur. (Actually, this could be her outfit from the PS1 game, Soul Blade, but I don't remember or actually care.) This pattern was actually a huge pain to make, as her ninja outfit is very detailed in it impracticality. I feel like, if you're going to be a ninja with a face mask, maybe the cleavage is important to cover, too, but I suppose I am not thinking with fighting game logic. Anyway, I do not actually play as Taki, so for those of you that do, that is why I left out whatever small detail or another that you guys are looking at and wondering why it is not there. I might make one of her alternate outfits at some point, like I did for some of the other characters, but I thought that this pattern was cool enough to be sufficient.
Today's final pattern is yet another Cardcaptor Sakura, which got saved for last because I felt like sandwiching the ninja between the two fluffier and frillier patterns. This is one of the Sakura patterns that I like best, but it's a pretty ordinary outfit, so I can see where it could also be sort of boring.

I am done with blogging for today, but I should be posting something again soon! I've been e-mailed a lot of cool stuff that I am going to eventually do a post on, and I have a lot more patterns, too, so there is no lack of content about which to post. Until then, have a nice weekend and a good start to November!

BMO is a Real Cross Stitch Pattern!

Hello! I have had a lot of stuff to do at school and wasn't feeling that good, so I haven't posted here for a long time. Right now, though, it's Thanksgiving break and I'm feeling a lot better, so it seems reasonable to do a blog post today! First of all, I want to reply to an anonymous comment that I got last night! Doing a 12 days of Christmas thing where I have 12 patterns in one day and 11 the next is a cool idea, and not a bad one, but I am lazy and have final projects due in December (one of them on the 22nd, which I am not looking forward to), so I will just be doing two or three patterns a day, like I usually do in December. It is not very festive, but I don't think I would be able to get that many patterns done and posted! Hopefully, though, this will be another good sprite patterns December.

Anyway, today I have a requested pattern of BMO from Adventure Time! It was requested a few posts ago, and when I replied, the stitcher that wanted it said that she was patient with a really cute smiley face after it, so I sort of feel bad that it took me this long to make it. I think that it turned out well, though, and will probably make this myself at some point! It's a medium sized pattern, but there aren't any huge color blocks, so it shouldn't be boring to make, and BMO looks really happy, so that's nice, too. I hope that you guys like this pattern!
In the same post, I got a request for some patterns of characters from Lunar: Silver Star, which I do not know that much about. It looks like it will be fun to make the characters, though, so I will try to have one of them in a few days!

I am done now, because I have a lot of Doctor Who to watch! I should be back with a new post pretty soon, though, so until then, have a good weekend!

A Lovely Portrait Pattern From an RPG I Have Never Played

Hello! Tonight, I will not be making a very long post. While I was working on my chart for tonight, I kept forgetting where my fingers were on the keyboard and typing strings of gibberish instead of floss colors and symbols, so that doesn't make the thought of writing a full length blog post seem very promising. However, someone had requested some patterns of characters from Lunar: Silver Star Story, an RPG, and I got one done, so I wanted to get it posted before I forgot about it.

Before I post this, I have to say that I know very little about Lunar: Silver Star Story. I ended up doing a pattern of Luna first, mostly because she looks kind of like the girl from the front of the giant cardboard box for the PS1 version of Lunar: Eternal Blue. I played some of that game quite a while ago, so that seemed like an okay point of reference. I am not sure if she was an important character or not, but there were a lot of screenshots and stuff featuring her, so she must have at least been popular. I liked making this pattern, though, and I think that it came out well! However, I want to ask people who have actually played this game if there are other characters that I should be making, too. Because I've never played the game, I don't know which characters do and don't matter, so as I post Luna, I am slightly worried that she's some girl who lives in a house in your town and joins your party for five battles before wandering away that the fan base just kind of got obsessed with. Even if she is, however, I hope that you guys like today's pattern!
I am done posting for now, but I'm having fun making portrait patterns, so I might post another one pretty soon! Until then, have a nice week, and if you are a reader in the USA and I don't post again before that, a happy Thanksgiving, too!

A Big Pattern of a Fairy from the Legend of Zelda Games

Hello! I don't know how many of you guys are new readers to this blog in the past year, but every December, I post sprite patterns every day in an event that I very cleverly call "Sprite Patterns December." Thanksgiving was so late this year that it took me a while to figure out that December, and, by extension, Sprite Patterns December, starts on Sunday. I have a lot of stuff lined up and ready to go, but before I spend a month posting really tiny patterns, I want to post another monochrome Legend of Zelda pattern.

For today, I just made a pattern of one of the fairies from Wind Waker, which isn't very exciting, but it is really cute. I figured that the level of cuteness would make up for the fact that, even though I have a list of characters people want, I made one of the very few characters from the game that was not actually on it. Though it is probably not the case that people just forgot about the fairies and will be thrilled once they see how much this looks like a Sanrio character, I hope that this is true for at least one reader other than myself.

This pattern was made to match the rest of the set as well as possible. She's 135 stitches tall, which is not proportionally correct, but I am not sure that matters. There's a lot of white space on this, so it shouldn't take too long to stitch her, either. I hope that you guys like the pattern!
For today, I am done because my brain is fried. I will be posting again on Sunday, though, with the start of Sprite Patterns December! Until then, have a nice weekend!

Sprite Patterns December Day 1: Cutesy Sanrio Stuff

Hello! Today is December 1st, which makes it the first day of Sprite Patterns December (for the fourth time!) here at Dork Stitch! I've been very excited to get started with this, which, if you're new to reading this blog, is where I post new sprite patterns every day for the entire month of December. I have a lot of cool stuff to post and will do my best to make some more nifty patterns. For today, though, I'm starting with some sprite patterns of Sanrio stuff! At first, I didn't know what I was going to post at all, since I have a lot of patterns in reserve and a lot of requests to work on, but it seemed like it would be fun to start with some cute and fluffy stuff.

The first pattern of the day is of the Little Twin Stars, a pair of Sanrio characters that some of you guys are probably sick of seeing on here! It was fun to make these patterns, though, and even though I think that it would be boring to stitch these on white fabric, they would probably look cool on blue or pink fabric. I also think that I may have gone a bit too far with Lala's massive amount of fluffy pink hair, but I am not very bothered by that.

The second pattern is of the more obscure and not-too-excitingly-named Patty and Jimmy. They're not the most popular Sanrio characters, but they still get to be on merchandise and had a completely different color scheme from the Little Twin Stars, so they seemed like a good pair of characters to make. I don't have much other than that to say about this pattern, but either way, I hope that you guys like the stuff that's being posted today!
With those two patterns posted, I am done for today. Tomorrow night or afternoon, though, I will have more sprite patterns for you guys. If there is any stuff that you guys would like to see this month, let me know in the comments section! I think that I know what I'm going to post tomorrow, but after that, things are quite open. Until then, have a nice day!

Sprite Patterns December Day 2: Streets of Rage and Too Much Text

Hello! Today is the second day of this year's Sprite Patterns December, and after all of yesterday's fluffy cuteness, it seemed like a good idea to post some patterns from a needlessly karate filled old video game! Before I post the patterns for today, I have to say that I actually don't know that much about Streets of Rage. I have a Sega Genesis with a bunch of games pre-programmed into it plugged into my TV, and I do enjoy playing it. If I'm going to be playing a side scrolling beat-em'-up, I don't want to be dealing with all of Golden Axe's sword and sorcery crap, especially not when I can be a cop who for some reason is dressed like she's headed to a photo shoot and is, for some reason, kicking a lot of people. As is the case with a lot of beat-em'-ups, though, I am horrible at Streets of Rage. Usually, I can abuse an arcade collection's continue feature to get past this, which has allowed me to see the stunning cinematic endings of such noted games as Sengoku and Bad Dudes vs. Dragon Ninja. On my Sega, however, there is no infinite continue thing, so I instead get to level two or three, accidentally use up all of the special attacks where stuff explodes because I get distracted and start talking to someone, have to start over two or three times, and then play Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, which I am awesome at.

After e-mailing back and forth with Gatchacaz (of the lovely blog Gatchastitch) about the games programmed into the Genesis, she suggested that I make some of the characters, particularly the ones from Streets of Rage, from the games as sprite patterns. I thought that it would be fun to make Blaze and the other characters that I never play as because I am shallow and want to play as the girl, so I decided to give it a try. Much to my shock, the guys who are not Blaze change from game to game, and, in fact, at some point, they befriend a child with a skateboard and let him kick people. This seems like a bad idea to me, but if the streets have too much rage, I guess someone has to take care of it.

For today, I just have the characters from the first game, because that seemed like the thing to do. I don't have much to say about these patterns, other than that I hope that they look as much like they're from the early 90s as the characters do within the game. I hope that those of you who are interested in these patterns like them!

With those patterns posted, I am done for today! These won't be the last Sega patterns for the month, as I already have one much, much frillier and more pastel character charted and ready to go. As always, though, if you have any requests, let me know in the comments! I don't know what I will post tomorrow, but I will be back with another post of sprite patterns before the day is over. Have a nice day!

Sprite Patterns December Day 3: The Majority of a Requested Set of Evangelion Patterns

Hello! One of my goals for today was to get today's blog post done before anything good is on TV, which, seeing as I have over an hour to do that, seems like it will be met. My post for today isn't going to be as long as yesterday's, since I've spent most of the day putting together a not-that-exciting presentation for my class on teaching writing classes, making my brain kind of fried. To compensate for that, I decided that, since I got kind of set on posting patterns that were somehow related to giant robot stuff for today, I would post the rest of the requested patterns of characters from Neon Genesis Evangelion. That way, I will be posting patterns that people actually want while typing a lot less than I would if I were posting the patterns from Pacific Rim or Robotech, or a set that I'm working on from a newer, but incredible shallow and girly, anime that has giant robots. You guys are by no means safe from any of those pattern sets for the rest of the month, but for today, I decided against them.

Anyway, I am pretty sure that I have watched most of Evangelion, but other than the thing where Shinji keeps answering the phone and people say they hate him, and Misato's having a penguin in her fridge, I really don't remember it very well. No one was ever very happy on there, and I never saw the middle part where you found out if that weird American blonde kid was evil or not (note: this may actually have been on another show that I don't remember very well), so it is all kind of fuzzy to me. I really enjoyed making these patterns, though, because even if I don't remember the show that well, I remember Rei and Asuka being on the back of piles of anime magazines and the front pages of tons of anime fan sites. I really like how both of those patterns came out, and if you want Shinji to match them, I posted him a couple of months ago. You can find him by clicking on the "evangelion" tag, which will not be capitalized because I am lazy about tagging posts.

As I was going through my "still to post" folder to upload those, I found a pattern of Misato, too. I remember making this, but had totally forgotten about it until I saw it today. Enjoy the extra pattern!
These patterns are all that I have for today, but I'll be back tomorrow with more patterns and a new post! Until then, have a nice day!

Sprite Patterns December Day 4: Gotcha Force!

Hello! I am not in my most charitable mood right now. Last night, I was really panicking about finishing a paper and getting ready for a presentation that I have to give tonight, and once I was finally done, I was subjected to listening to a cell phone screaming match that lasted until after midnight, followed by some lovely television played at a very loud volume until about 9 am. I feel okay about bringing this up on here because I feel like you guys should know why I am using today's Sprite Patterns December post for patterns from a very obscure Game Cube game and because I am not being very detailed or specific. I think that they're really cool patterns, though, so hopefully, that makes up for it!

A few months ago, I thought that it would be cool to make sprite patterns for every robot from Gotcha Force, a Game Cube game from Capcom about collecting and battling tiny robots. It wasn't very popular at all, but I used to play it quite a bit and my brother still does. The biggest problem with my plan was that there are 206 robots to collect in the game and most of them are very difficult to make. It is fun to try and make little patterns of some of the more complicated robots, though, and I'm still working on them. I just am not sure that, since a couple of the ones that I have finished took me several hours to figure out, I will finish the full set. For today, however, I have the three Gotcha Borgs that I've gotten finished and put into cross stitch charts! Issac and G-Red are pretty different from most of my sprite patterns, while Nao, the nurse borg, is not that far off from the norm, but if you like these, I still have more of them to chart. I hope that someone else out there has played the game enough to at least recognize these characters!

I am done posting for today, and after this, I will be sure to post patterns of something that more of you guys have heard of for tomorrow! Until then, however, I hope that you have a nice day and are able to sleep well!
